Great British Railways grew again on Sunday 20th.
Operator c2c, which ran services between South Essex and London, is the latest to be nationalised.
C2c becomes the sixth operator to be nationalised, under the Passenger Railway Services Act 2024. This act allows ministers to take over rail companies and push them into public ownership when their contracts expire.
This is another step forward to making a nationwide ran railway service and another step in Labours plans for the nation.

As previously mentioned I am a member of the Labour party and believe in a mixed economy between private and public sector.
The railways are definitely a sector which I believe should be ran by the government.
Infrastructure is too expensive to make it competitive and therefore it can only really be worthwhile and cost effective for the government to run it.
If it’s not run properly then we can vote them out and get people in to change Great British Railways.
There is also the big factor that the majority of railway services are run by a government. It just so happens that the government isn’t ours. Lots of companies that run our transport services are actually foreign owned by governments across Europe. They are making profits off our country to then put back into their economy.
I do believe in working with countries to get the best out of the world, but our railways are definitely one area that our government should run.
Those looking to the past regarding British Rail overlook many things, including the fact that a lot of industries back then were in public ownership. It is time to start fresh, it is time to get the railways back in order and ran for the benefit of the public.
