Is It Worth It?

As the War in the Middle East continues, it is clear that the UK, European Countries and other Allies of the United States are standing firm with not getting involved in the war.

For that I must praise the Prime Minister and other leaders across the world. We will always stand with America but this war is too far.

The comparison between the US getting involved in the World Wars and this war, is that we were defending ourselves against an aggressor that was attacking us. The US have decided to attack Iran, but clearly with no clear plan on what they are doing or the objectives.

I think the majority of us agree that the regime has to change and we need to work with them over their nuclear weapons program. I stated on here that I was in favour of getting rid of their nuclear weapons. But the way this war has gone and what is coming out of the White House is very worrying.

President Trump wants us to help, but what do we gain?

As someone pointed out, it’s easier to negotiate with Iran to help get the ships through the strait. If we send military personnel to try and help escort those ships, then they will face the Iranian force and potentially lose their life.

We’ve also seen the easing of restrictions on Russian assets to allow more gas and oil into the market. This then adds money to the pocket of Russia which only benefits them in the War in Ukraine.

We now hear that Iran didn’t pose an imminent threat.

Innocent people around the Middle East are being killed. Military personnel are being killed.

Economies are at threat across the World. Prices are going up because of Oil and Gas prices.

Is it worth it?

Wars are harder to finish than to start.

Wars don’t help.

Stop the War.
