Ceasefire for the US

Tuesday could have been a dark day for the world, when President Trump have threatened to wipe the civilisation in Iran off the map if Iran kept the Strait of Hormuz closed.

But that didn’t happen. There was a last minute ceasefire between the US and Iran, with many points that will be put forward for negotiation – including Iran charging a fee for using the Strait of Hormuz, which is an international body of water.

For the time being though the US have stopped attacking Iran and the Vice President has flown to Pakistan to start negotiations with Iran. But representatives from Iran haven’t turned up and have said that Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire.

Israel continues to attack Lebanon with 1,953 people killed in the country since the start of the war, according to the health ministry. Iran has not fully opened the Strait of Hormuz.

This ceasefire feels like it was a way out for President Trump.

Israel continues to attack Lebanon and Iran continues to monitor the Strait of Hormuz, restricting traffic through this vital trade route.

It feels like Trump wanted a way out of this way and he got it through the ceasefire. But looking at everything, you have to ask – was it worth it?

The leadership in Iran hasn’t really changed, in fact they’re probably more angry because the US killed his father and other family members.

The Strait is still restricted, yet before the war it wasn’t.

Innocent civilisations have been killed and others have had their lives changed.

The countries in the Middle East which were trying to show themselves as safe, have been under attack.

The safety of Israel has once again been threatened.

Was it worth it?

We need to speed up the peace negotiations and stop this war. We need to the Strait of Hormuz open.

We need peace across the world.

Peace through the strength of communcation.
