The latest War in the Middle East has once again proved that the UK and the world are interconnected. A shock in one place, causes a ripple affect across the world.

We’ve had plenty of shocks since 2008. The economy hasn’t really bounced back from then, and it’s always the people at the bottom who take the brunt.
The phrase – In the Same Storm, Not the Same Boat – was proved during Covid. It once again is proved.
Decisions by people at the top are having effects mainly on those just trying to survive. None so more than the innocent civilians of the Middle East who have been killed.
And whilst we’re all trying to get by, those at the top are bickering for no real reason. And it’s taken even more of a turn…….with one of the most holyest figures on Earth, the Pope, being disgraced by politicians who don’t understand the offence. The Pope speaks out on morals, and perhaps those politicians should listen.
But getting back to this country, the lack of ambition by this government continues unfortunately.
Governments across the world have announced cuts in their fuel duty, but not our government.
When fuel prices rises, it means the price of everything rises. The minute anything costs more to move, the cost is put onto the product itself. 97% of our products are moved by road haulage. All of that has been impacted by the war.
But no cut, and therefore price increases in sectors across the economy.
The government should have cut the duty temporarily.
But it didn’t.
Those at the bottom paying the price once again.
